
Child Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychologist to join our student support team in Rockhampton Region. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing services available to students, focusing on early intervention and providing support for those experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns.
This is an exciting opportunity for provisional or early career psychologists to develop their skills under professional supervision. Our team provides ongoing support for both the internship and clinical registrar programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents, and families to address personal or relationship concerns.
- Provide advice on diagnoses provided by external professionals and monitor students' progress.
- Administer psycho-educational assessments of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties, including cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social, and adaptive functioning.
- Coordinate or assist in the implementation of professional development programs for teachers, parents, schools, and other professionals on topics such as supporting students' mental health and wellbeing.
- Identify needs and refer students, parents, and families to community agencies for additional support.
