Senior Finance Leadership Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to make a meaningful impact in remote Northern Territory communities.

About the Position:

  • Maintain and develop financial management systems to drive strategic decision-making
  • Lead the refinement of financial processes, procedures, and reporting requirements
  • Manage end-to-end operations of the finance team including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, allowances, and reconciliation
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across diverse funded program activities
  • Prepare insightful monthly reports and financial analyses to inform business decisions
  • Partner with program managers to connect operational activity to financial performance
  • Oversee annual budgeting process and track program-level expenditure
  • Lead end-of-year audits and financial preparation for governance meetings
  • Guide rollout of new integrated finance and HR platforms
  • Identify process improvements and lead collaborative change implementation

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance with strong academic credentials
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management and proven leadership skills
  • CA or CPA accreditation highly desirable
  • Background in not-for-profit, NGO, or complex program funding environments
  • Comfort navigating multiple funding streams and financial reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience leading system/process improvement and rolling out new platforms
  • Confidence working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders at all levels
