As a visionary leader, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to an organisation that represents the Traditional Owners of the Groote Archipelago. You will ensure the organisation fulfills its statutory obligations under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 and other relevant legislation.
You will lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies that preserve Anindilyakwa culture, drive sustainable economic development, and protect the environment. Your role will require an unwavering commitment to living on Groote Eylandt and becoming an integral part of the community.
You must actively engage with and work alongside the Anindilyakwa people, embracing the unique cultural identity of the Groote Archipelago and embedding community priorities into all facets of the organisation.

- You have proven ability to lead multidisciplinary organisations in culturally sensitive environments.
- You have demonstrated experience in strategic planning to achieve economic and cultural outcomes.
- You have deep understanding of Aboriginal culture, governance, and Traditional Owner perspectives.
- You have strong skills in building partnerships with government, private sector, and community stakeholders.
- You have expertise in financial management, statutory compliance, and organisational governance.
- You have experience managing infrastructure projects and operational portfolios.
- You have commitment to fostering culturally safe workplaces, supporting staff development, and mentoring senior leaders to build leadership capacity.
Your qualifications include postgraduate qualifications in Business, Public Administration, or a related field. You also have familiarity with the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 and Native Title Act 1993. Experience in mining, environmental management, or Indigenous policy sectors is preferred.

Additionally, you will have opportunity to make a difference in a small community and lead the way towards self-determination for the Traditional Owners of the Groote archipelago.
