Job Summary
The Cath Lab Technologist operates and maintains all medical imaging equipment in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This role is responsible for providing direct patient care with a focus on the perioperative period, including pre-operative assessment and post-operative evaluation while applying age-specific needs in the assessment, treatment, and/or care of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate documentation and charging practices are crucial in this role.
- Critical thinking and anticipating the needs of the patient and surgeon are essential skills for success in this position.
- Assisting with the orientation of new personnel is an important aspect of this role.
- Taking call as assigned is a key responsibility for this position.
- Cross-trained to monitor, circulate, scrub, and operate all cardiac cath lab equipment.
- Participating in safety management and infection control programs is critical to ensuring a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology is required.
- OJT (On-the-Job Training) is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience as a licensed Radiologic Technologist.
- Current registration with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and the TDH (Texas Department of Health) is required.
