Our organisation is seeking an experienced Demand Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team, you will play a critical role in driving strategic change and embedding leading planning capability across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating pre-demand review meetings and state-based forecast meetings, as well as agreeing actions with stakeholders. You will also be required to coordinate demand plan inputs from various teams, including sales, marketing, and product development.
In this role, you will use a segmented forecast approach to develop accurate forecasts, leveraging statistical forecasting and pipeline management techniques. You will also analyse and review sales trends on a monthly basis, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to drive business growth.
">Key Accountabilities- Coordinate and facilitate pre-demand review meetings and state-based forecast meetings and agree actions
- Coordinate demand plan inputs from state sales, major projects, marketing, NPD and market strategy
- Use a segmented forecast approach across different channels using statistical forecasting and pipeline management
- Analyse and review sales trends on a monthly basis
- Develop consensus forecast in 1-24 months horizon, with input from state teams
- Work with market models to develop forward indicators to provide content for channel forecasts
- Review and sense check market based forecasts to identify anomalies or exceptions
- Reviews customer and product segmentation rules and ABC analysis
- Identify and model impacts of alternative demand scenarios to test business unit demand sensitivities
- Prepare monetised view of agreed aggregate forecast for input to IBP demand review
- Manage demand inputs into IBP cycle and action outputs
- Drive reduction in forecast error and eliminates forecast bias
- Review actual performance to plans to identify abnormal demand. Work with sales managers and major project managers to mitigate customer impacts of demand or supply events.
- Validate demand plans including volume at product family and SKU level and risk and manage adjustments
- Review and manage sales history cleansing to improve baseline forecasting
- Maintain, deploy and monitor demand data maintenance policy and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- ">
- 3+ years' experience in key facets of supply chain management including customer service, inventory, freight, warehousing, planning, procurement, distribution">
- Demonstrated experience in time series demand and replenishment forecasting">
- Numerate and systems literate with the ability to manage large amounts of data analysis. Strong statistical skills (standard deviation, normal distribution, average)">
- Good planning and organising skills, combined with strong attention to detail">
- A team player, able to effectively influence and communicate cross functionally and able to engage at all levels in the organisation">
- The ability to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes to a high standard">
- Strong verbal and written communication skills">
- Innovative thinking and problem solving">
- Analytical thinking and information seeking">
- Experience in manufacturing and understanding customer/market buying behaviour / patterns">
- Demonstrated experience in Advanced Planning Systems">
