Optimise the Ubuntu Gaming Experience

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team in enhancing the gaming experience on Ubuntu. You will be responsible for optimising and expanding the Ubuntu gaming experience, focusing on the Steam Snap.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional software project management skills, encompassing risk assessment and resource allocation. They should also be able to balance technical leadership with effective team management.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to align your team's work with other teams and company objectives. This will involve conducting keen-eyed code reviews, focusing on quality, performance, and modern design principles.

A strong understanding of the Linux graphics stack spanning user-space components to low level kernel drivers is essential. The ability to engage actively with the open source and gaming community to gather feedback and collaborate on improvements is also crucial.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team in optimising and expanding the Ubuntu gaming experience
  • Manage project timelines, balancing feature improvements with deadlines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align your team's work with other teams and company objectives

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with upstream projects and partners
