**Work Health and Safety Professional**

Our organization is seeking a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to support operational processes and objectives under the Major Hazard Facility licence and associated Safety Case.

This role involves utilizing your logical approach and attention to detail to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, conduct training and inspections, and maintain essential equipment records.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring workers' training is updated to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly testing and inspections on Schedule 15 chemicals
  • Creating and monitoring Safe Work Permits and associated safety documentation
  • Maintaining and monitoring essential equipment service and maintenance records
  • Conducting racking and warehouse inspections on a weekly basis
  • Conducting MHF Inspections on a consistent basis
  • Maintaining meeting minutes for MHF and operational departments
  • Sending WHS information and circulating materials
  • Maintaining supplier records and assessment pertinent to MHF Branch
  • Supporting MHF Team with various processes, including hazard and risk assessment, management of change, and Health and fitness for work

Requirements include:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar industry (preferably chemicals/dangerous goods)
  • Good knowledge of Dangerous goods and Hazardous substances
  • Tertiary Qualification in WH&S
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Team player
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite products (Outlook, Word & Excel)
