We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our dynamic and collaborative research team within the Centre for Clinical and Experimental Transplantation (CCET). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to life-changing scientific discovery and build a career in biomedical research.
Job Description: The successful candidate will play a vital part in advancing human immunology research, particularly supporting the MRFF-funded SIR ZOSTER clinical trial. This study explores how immunosuppressive drugs impact the immune response to the Shingrix vaccine in transplant recipients.
- Develop and refine a broad range of research skills, including the processing and analysis of clinical samples, coordination with trial teams, biobanking, and immunological assays such as ELISA and flow cytometry.
- Contribute to the development of new research protocols and procedures, and assist in the preparation of research papers and presentations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Possess sound knowledge of human biology and basic laboratory practices.
- Have a genuine interest in scientific research and the life-saving impact of organ transplantation.
