Telecommunications Technician Position

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding scope of works on build drawings and site survey findings is essential for this role.
  • We require someone with expertise in installing and maintaining WCDMA/LTE/4G/5G/NBN technologies.
  • Installing radio base stations, terminating Hybriflex Cables and Coaxial feeder cables/tails, earthing, cable trays, diplexers, and combiners are critical tasks.
  • Upgrading or installing DC power rack systems including rectifiers, batteries, and load testing are also required.
  • Configuring and capturing status for Hand Over Packs (HOP's) is an important function.
  • Commissioning and integrating RBS into the network requires technical expertise.
  • Conducting PIM, VSWR, and sweep and fibre testing is necessary for quality assurance.
  • Troubleshooting, replacing defective equipment, and monitoring site performance are key responsibilities.
  • Installing and commissioning microwave indoor and outdoor units require specialized knowledge.
  • Software installation, testing, and commissioning of sites are also essential.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative business relationships with client support personnel and strong working relationships with team and business staff are required.
Desirable Skills:
  • A tertiary qualification in Telecommunications or Engineering science, electronics, or microprocessors would be beneficial.
  • Equivalent experience as a telecommunications technician without a qualification may also be considered.
  • Experience in installation, commissioning, and testing of Nokia and/or Ericsson equipment is highly valued.
  • Current Working at Heights / Tower Rescue Ticket; First Aid and CPR certification is essential.
  • A Construction White Card and Full Manual Driver's Licence are also required.
  • Radhaz RF EME Awareness and experience with Telstra, NBN, Vodafone, Optus 3G/4G would be advantageous.
  • Able to work away from home if required.
