Context
The Senior Consultant - Railway Telecommunications will play a vital role in our Rail Systems team in Perth. This role will bring technical expertise and leadership to the organisation in the field of Telecommunications systems that support railway mission critical and business critical applications.
Missions/Main Duties
About The Role
- Lead the planning, execution, and technical review of complex railway telecommunications projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and Systra's IMS standards and processes.
- Deliver high-quality telecommunications solutions that support railway mission critical and business critical applications, tailored to specific client needs.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, commercial, contract management, procurement, scheduling, and planning to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain a strong focus on innovation, client satisfaction, and project efficiency, contributing to the development of long-term client relationships and supporting project profitability.
- Oversee and review technical documentation, designs, and reports to ensure compliance with industry best practices and project specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, sharing knowledge on telecommunications technologies relevant to the rail sector, including IP/MPLS and 3GPP (4G/5G) networks.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and equipment suppliers (such as Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco, and Juniper) to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and addressed.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet statutory, regulatory, and safety standards, reflecting Systra's commitment to quality and excellence.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in consulting, with a strong background in railway telecommunications.
- Direct experience with IP/MPLS and 5G equipment from major suppliers (such as Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco, and Juniper) is highly valued.
- Proven expertise in the deployment of 3GPP networks (4G, 5G) and IP/MPLS solutions within a railway environment is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions within project timeframes and budgets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, statutory requirements, and safety standards within the rail sector.
