Are you seeking a challenging opportunity as a Communications Systems Officer? The Public Transport Authority has an exciting role for someone with the knowledge and experience to manage communications works on major transport infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities will include inspecting communications works, reviewing contractor plans, ensuring contractors are operating safely, reporting on progress, and maintaining accurate records.

This role is part of the Office of Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery Division (OMTID) and offers a unique chance to work across various teams, providing matrix-style support to multiple major projects. You'll be working closely with the project team to identify risks and suggest mitigations, ensuring that all contractual requirements are met.

As a qualified professional in this field, you'll have expertise in Building Access Systems (BAS), Long-line Public Address (LLPA) systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, PTA radio systems, Passenger Information Systems, ticketing systems, and more.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a thorough understanding of contract management principles. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting communications works on major infrastructure transport projects

  • Ensuring public safety, occupational health & safety, and environmental standards are met

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in a relevant technical field
  • Experience in contract management and/or construction industry
  • Knowledge of building access systems, long-line public address systems, SCADA systems, and other related technologies
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
