About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at Wellways Australia Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing our team of Volunteers and Family and Community Engagement Workers who support families, carers, and friends to establish community inclusion and create welcoming spaces in the community.

With the guidance and support of the Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for recruitment, training, supervision, and support of your team across the Barwon region. You will also facilitate the initial introduction between volunteers, carers, and families and work with them to ensure appropriate support is offered in line with their individual action plan.

We are looking for a warm-hearted individual who shares our passion for making a difference in the everyday lives of carers; who is an experienced people manager who can inspire and be inspired by our dedicated team of local area champions to ensure they are fully equipped to deliver the best quality service to those in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Volunteers and Family and Community Engagement Workers
  • Facilitate the initial introduction between volunteers, carers, and families
  • Work with volunteers, carers, and families to ensure appropriate support is offered in line with their individual action plan
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to the team
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to ensure the team is equipped to deliver the best quality service
Requirements
  • Personal lived experience of caring for someone with mental health challenges or psychosocial distress and recovery
  • Certificate IV in social science or related discipline
  • Experience in human services or related sector including individual and community development work
  • Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake travel
  • Appropriate IT skills
  • Right to Work within Australia
  • Satisfactory outcomes on National Police Check (no older than 12 months) and Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate and NDIS Worker Screening Check
