Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Centre Technician to join our Sydney facilities team at NEXTDC.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to support the Facility Manager with the day-to-day operations of the data centre, providing high-quality technical maintenance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with customer equipment installations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Facility Rules and ensure strict adherence to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Deliver cabling needs, electrical, and data services to customer racks and areas, meeting precise requirements.
  • Attend to Remote Hands Requests, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain all core electrical and mechanical systems, guaranteeing optimal functionality.
  • Identify and resolve facility problems in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with fibre optic cabling, possessing expertise in installation and maintenance.
  • A Grade Electrical License, enabling you to perform complex electrical tasks.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, fostering strong relationships with clients.
  • Basic knowledge of data centres, preferred but not essential.
  • TAFE Cert in Telecommunications, demonstrating a solid foundation in telecommunications principles.
