Job Opportunity: Plant Engineer

This is a challenging role that will see you working as part of a team to support plant operations for foundations and bridge construction.

As the technical interface between site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will be responsible for providing practical solutions, coordinating logistics, and supporting project delivery to meet schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilise and coordinate heavy plant and equipment for piling, foundations, and bridge construction.
  • Monitor utilisation and implement preventative maintenance programs.
  • Provide technical advice on plant selection, capabilities, and safe operating procedures.
  • Respond to breakdowns and support repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and logistics teams to manage plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, compliance, and utilisation.
  • Support lift studies, equipment planning, and WHS, environmental, and quality compliance.
  • Assist with procurement, supplier engagement, and forecasting plant requirements to align with construction programs.

About You

  • At least 2 years' experience in plant engineering, civil, or infrastructure projects.
  • A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of heavy plant and equipment used in foundations and bridge construction.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plant specifications, and maintenance schedules.
  • Practical problem-solver with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage and build rapport with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Flexible and proactive, with a willingness to work across both site and office environments.
  • A strong safety-first mindset with knowledge of WHS standards and safe work practices.
