Lead Medical Professional for Papua New Guinea

We are seeking a highly skilled medical professional to lead clinical operations in a remote community medical facility in Papua New Guinea. This role involves direct patient care, medical oversight, and coordination of referrals and evacuations. We require a candidate with strong leadership skills and experience working in remote or resource-limited environments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent medical services to the health service manager, clients, external stakeholders, and community members.
  • Provide clinical and strategic leadership to medical services, ensuring compliance with evidence-based guidelines.
  • Supervise medical professionals to ensure efficient health service delivery.
  • Actively participate in patient care, including consultations and recommendations for medical referrals and evacuations as required.
  • Coordinate medical emergencies, referrals, and evacuations according to standard operating procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Essential Criteria:
  • A medical degree and current, unrestricted license to practice.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience, including trauma/emergency, occupational health, family medicine, and at least 5 years in leadership or management roles.
  • Leadership experience in medical settings, including remote or resource-limited environments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and provide clinical guidance in complex cases.
