Job Title: Performance Planning and Reporting Officer

The role of the Performance Planning and Reporting Officer is a critical function that plays a significant part in ensuring the department meets its obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). This includes duties related to the Corporate Plan, Commonwealth Performance Framework and the Annual Report.

About the Role:

The incumbent will engage with various stakeholders across the department, working closely with teams to drive organisational change. Key responsibilities include delivering reporting frameworks, performance measures and processes, providing assurance for the Annual Performance Statements and overseeing the department's divisional business planning process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain corporate plans, business plans, quarterly performance statements and commitment reporting;
  2. Contribute to the continuous improvement and reform of the department's performance framework, performance measures, processes and deliverables;
  3. Collaborate with all divisions across the department to manage performance information input and develop the departmental narrative for planning and reporting documents;
  4. Prepare briefing papers for the department's Executive Board and committees;
  5. Prepare briefing papers for ministers on planning and reporting products;
  6. Manage progress of coordination and significant documents responsible for, identifying and escalating emerging issues early.

  • Strong coordination capabilities, including prioritising effectively and working to tight timeframes;
  • A strong teamwork orientation, including a willingness to go the extra mile to help team members through work peaks;
  • Well-developed communication skills, including synthesising complex technical information into succinct and simple-to-understand advice, plans, briefs and reports;
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities, including cultivating and maintaining effective professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About Us:

The Ministerial and Executive Enabling Branch provides support and assistance to the Executive and our Ministers, enabling them to achieve outcomes. We collaborate across our department's divisions and work closely with our senior executive and internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful branch and division-wide coordination and delivery.
