Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Technical Services and Estimating professional to lead and influence high-impact projects across our contract mining portfolio.

This is a key position that will drive operational excellence through innovative mine modelling and productivity initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in mining operations, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering commercially sound and technically robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical services and estimating functions across multiple mining projects. They will drive operational excellence through innovative mine modelling and productivity initiatives, mentor and coach technical teams to build capability and deliver value, collaborate with stakeholders to develop commercially sound and technically robust solutions, review feasibility studies, optimise schedules and designs, and review operational risk.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline;
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a contract mining environment;
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • High attention to detail and a track record of developing successful initiatives;
  • Well-developed technical and operational mining skills;
  • Strategic and lateral thinking capabilities;
  • Broad management skills, including business development desired but not required;
  • Passion for innovation and emerging technologies in mining and mining best practice;
  • Previous experience in mine design, technical services and optimisation desired.
