About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technical Manager/Engineer to oversee critical technical and metrological testing of water meters for our esteemed client. This is a fixed-term contract based on-site with our client, requiring a September start.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct metrological tests on water meters to ensure compliance with Australian standards.
  2. Document and summarise customer and laboratory testing, procedures, and outcomes to maintain quality records.
  3. Perform preventive maintenance on test benches and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Execute tasks as directed by the Laboratory Quality Manager to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
  5. Notify management of any non-compliant work or anomalies to ensure prompt resolution.
  6. Ensure confidentiality and impartiality in test results for clients to maintain trust and credibility.
  7. Identify and specify samples for testing as required to meet client needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Proficiency in ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9000 standards to ensure compliance and quality.
  2. Experience in quality management and relevant processes to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
  3. Regulatory and practical knowledge of water meters and testing to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  4. Familiarity with Australian water meter standards such as NMI R49 and AS to ensure compliance.
  5. Fluency in English; French proficiency is advantageous to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  6. Mastery of audit techniques according to ISO 19011 to ensure quality and compliance.
  7. Strong interpersonal and management skills to lead and collaborate with teams.
  8. Degree or Diploma in instrumentation, mechanical engineering, or similar field to demonstrate technical expertise.
