Position OverviewThis position is responsible for managing laboratory functions, facilitating training, supporting inline testing for production, and ensuring accurate data reporting. The role emphasizes leadership, technical proficiency, and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all facets of laboratory operations, including quality assurance testing, data evaluation, equipment upkeep, and sample handling.
- Guarantee the application and compliance with stringent quality assurance standards and protocols.
- Oversee data gathering, analysis, and reporting processes. Maintain laboratory data integrity, identify trends, deviations, and potential quality concerns.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to uphold the accuracy and reliability of test outcomes.
- Supervise the collection, labeling, and preservation of samples for testing and archival purposes.
- Organize and conduct training sessions for laboratory personnel on testing techniques, equipment handling, safety measures, and quality assurance practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including production, engineering, quality assurance, and management, to resolve quality challenges, implement process enhancements, and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Demonstrated experience in a laboratory management or leadership capacity, ideally within the plastics or recycling sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of laboratory testing methodologies and instruments, such as spectrophotometers, rheometers, and mechanical testing devices.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and quality management frameworks.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively working with diverse teams.
- Dedication to safety, environmental responsibility, and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline is preferred. Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
