Backend Architect Opportunity

We are looking for a highly experienced backend architect to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have strong Java fundamentals and experience building complex systems in production environments.

The role involves leading the design and development of scalable, reliable systems using modern frameworks and tools.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers to scope, define, and deliver impactful features.

Other key responsibilities include evolving and scaling system architecture through thoughtful design, system decomposition, and shared tooling.

Championing reliability, performance, and best practices across multiple domains is crucial.

  • Writing robust, well-tested code and proactively identifying areas for technical improvement or refactor.
  • Guiding design and code reviews, mentoring peers, and raising the technical bar for your team.
  • Maintaining and improving system health, observability, and incident resilience in partnership with your team.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Highly experienced building complex systems in production environments.
  • Strong Java fundamentals and ability to confidently write production-grade code.
  • Ability to take ownership of features end-to-end from architecture to delivery.
  • Balance attention to detail with pragmatism and consistently ship reliable, maintainable code at speed.
  • Thoughtful collaborator who works well across disciplines and proactively brings others on the journey.
  • Understand the bigger picture—how your systems connect to product goals, reliability, and long-term scalability.
  • Enjoy mentoring others, offering constructive feedback, and lifting the technical bar for your team.
  • Hands-on experience using AI in coding/programming to drive greater impact.
