
Air Cargo Sales and Business Development Specialist

The role of the Strategic Business Development Manager – Air Cargo is pivotal in driving revenue growth by maximizing unused capacity on our Express air network and additional aircraft.
This key position involves business development, strategic sales execution, and customer relationship management to fill critical gaps and seize market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive air cargo sales strategies aligned with our company goals and objectives
- Optimize aircraft space utilization through agile pricing and innovative filler product strategies
- Lead charter sales across domestic and international markets, focusing on high-growth lanes and untapped potential
- Build and manage a diverse portfolio of high-volume customers, including freight forwarders, direct shippers, and airline partners
- Travel extensively within Australasia to meet clients, assess new business opportunities, and promote our air cargo network
- Oversee the entire business cycle, from lead generation to service delivery and payment, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional customer satisfaction
- Closely collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth execution, efficient processes, and continuous improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track performance metrics, and adjust strategies to meet revenue and capacity targets
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3–8 years' experience in air freight, forwarding, or logistics sales
- A solid understanding of air cargo services, freighter aircraft types, and market dynamics
- Proven ability to create compelling rate offers, close deals under pressure, and negotiate successfully
- Experience managing full sales cycles, building long-term client relationships, and delivering results-driven solutions
- Willingness to travel and adapt schedules to meet urgent client needs, with an estimated frequency of 20-25%
