Job Overview

The role of Air Freight Coordinator entails the effective management of air freight processes to ensure timely and compliant cargo handling. It involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining high standards of accuracy and service delivery, and adapting to various systems used in the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate run sheets for Direct AWB terminal collection, ensuring drivers are notified in a timely manner.
  • Update milestones for POD and document Quality Control Events (QCT) in the Tango system.
  • Evaluate import freight customs clearance status before arranging delivery.
  • Assist in locating misplaced cargo by tracing with terminals, customers' warehouses, and Schenker warehouse locations.
  • Attend daily operation meetings and provide statistics on import and export shipments.
  • Negotiate customs clearance requirements with brokers and follow up on import shipments when necessary.
  • Coordinate with customers for additional clearance information and facilitate DAFF inspection bookings with brokers or external depots.
  • Handle export registration and EDNs, securing airline bookings according to customs service requirements.
  • Email export pre-alert documents as required.
  • Lodge export cargo daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, while reserving costs for terminal and airline fees.
  • Respond to all incoming communications within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Label all courier export shipments collected by UPS.
  • Support AOG desk requests including carrier bookings, transport courier bookings, and registrations.
