Lead Business Intelligence Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Engineering Operations team at Square Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving engineering operational excellence through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities- Data Analysis and Insights: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Engineering Operational Excellence at Square Inc. to uncover and highlight valuable insights.
- Research and Analysis: Lead data-driven research and analysis on the operational performance of engineering teams, identifying areas for improvement.
- Statistical Methods: Apply advanced statistical methods to interpret complex data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and correlations.
- Data Visualization: Design and implement data visualizations (e.g., in Looker, Mode) that are both insightful and accessible to stakeholders.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed reports summarizing your analysis, with clear recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The ideal candidate for this role:
- Has 5+ years of experience in solving complex data problems, with a focus on operational metrics.
- Possesses strong research and statistical analysis skills.
- Has experience in the engineering domain.
- Is capable of working independently, prioritizing tasks, and delivering results with minimal supervision.
- Excels at communicating complex quantitative insights clearly and actionably to diverse audiences.
- Has a proven track record of leading and executing high-impact data projects, often with cross-functional teams.
- Focuses on delivering incremental milestones, with a willingness to iterate and improve quickly.
