About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and passionate Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to lead the EHS function for the QNGR contract at the Wulkuraka, QLD site operations. As the EHS & Rail Safety Manager, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive EHS risk assessments, implementing effective measures to control and mitigate risks, and leading the EHS function on each site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct EHS risk assessments and implement control measures
  • Lead the EHS function on each site and spearhead induction programs
  • Provide support for upcoming tenders and shape safety strategies
  • Develop and maintain procedures and tools for the EHS Management System
  • Maintain records and documentation of the site and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Collaborate with business leaders to shape and enhance the EHS culture
  • Prepare and execute EHS training plans and programs
  • Lead incident investigations and internal EHS audits
About You
  • Qualifications in Workplace, Health and Safety (Diploma, Bachelors Degree or similar)
  • Profound understanding of local legal requirements, particularly in the context of Rail Safety
  • Initiative, drive, and resilience, with the ability to influence individuals at all levels
  • Previous experience in the rail industry or a similar safety-critical environment
  • Strong command of safe working systems, rules, and procedures
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, delivering desired results
