The role of a Psychologist at Somerset College involves providing assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic psychological services to students from Pre-Prep to Year 12.
Key responsibilities include undertaking educational and psychological assessments, providing psychological counselling, therapy and programs for individuals and groups, applying individual psychological evidence-based therapy experience and competence, and delivering psycho-educational assessments involving intellectual and ability assessment tools.
The Psychologist will work collaboratively with families, relevant practitioners and key internal stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing.
A strong emphasis is placed on building rapport, accessing, nurturing and empowering others, with a commitment to integrity, reliability, sound judgement, service and professional practice.
In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess qualifications in Psychology with current AHPRA registration, certifications in First Aid and Mental Health First Aid, and physical fitness to perform standing, mobile and manual tasks.
