Caregiver for Individuals with Disabilities

To empower individuals with disabilities, we seek a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide support within our community. As a Support Worker, you will form meaningful relationships with participants, understanding their unique needs and delivering person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer day-to-day assistance to help participants live safely and independently.
- Support with personal care routines, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility needs.
- Assist with meal preparation and domestic tasks to promote health and daily living skills.
- Provide transport and social support to facilitate access to community activities, appointments, and social connections.
- Encourage personal development and goal achievement, tailoring support to individual preferences and aspirations.
- Foster strong relationships with participants to build trusting partnerships.
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to engage with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Empathy, compassion, and emotional resilience are necessary to build trusting relationships.
- Adaptability and patience are required in responding to complex needs or behavioral challenges.
- The ability to make informed decisions and take initiative in challenging environments is crucial.
- Certificate III Individual Support/Disability or studying towards the qualification is highly regarded.
- A minimum of 2 years' industry experience is preferred.
- A valid Victorian Driver License is required.
- A Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check are also necessary.
