Laundry Team Leader Job Description

This role is responsible for the operation of the laundry department, directing and supervising team members to ensure efficient and effective processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate the laundry department with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist guests with urgent laundry requests while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Treat all guests' items carefully to minimize damages.
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of operating equipment used in laundry operations.
  • Order laundry supplies and ensure proper use and disposal to prevent accidents and optimize costs.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure high-quality linen and uniforms.
  • Report faulty equipment promptly to the Laundry Manager or Engineering department.
  • Accurately post guest laundry charges and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with assistants and supervisors to address production and personnel issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members according to established procedures.
  • Maintain records of production standards and training techniques.
Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A High School degree or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position in a 5-star international hotel or comparable industry-related experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of physical and mental stamina.
  • Knowledge of laundry operations, including washing, spotting, starching, dry-cleaning, pressing, and laundry machine maintenance.
  • Understanding of clothing materials and handling techniques.
  • Computer literacy is an asset.
