Job Description

The Enterprise Controls Assurance Lead will be responsible for leading the organisation's controls program to ensure critical operational, enterprise and strategic controls are well-designed, effectively implemented, and operating efficiently. This includes providing expert advice, delivering key assurance activities, and building capability across the business to support informed decision-making and a strong governance culture aligned with our strategic objectives.

About the Role

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continual refinement of enterprise controls to meet both public sector requirements and industry best practices.
  • Plan and execute assurance programs, conduct control design and effectiveness testing, and drive improvements that enhance overall governance and risk resilience.
  • Build strong partnerships across first- and second-line teams, governance, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Provide expert guidance on compliance alignment, developing remediation strategies, and enhancing organisational capability through training, education, and awareness initiatives.
  • Produce high-impact reporting and insights that inform strategic decision-making at executive and board level.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Proven expertise in controls design & assurance, with extensive experience in shaping and embedding strong control frameworks across complex organisational environments.
  • Strong capability in stakeholder collaboration & advisory, with highly developed skills in building strong partnerships across first- and second-line teams, governance, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strength in controls reporting & risk analysis, with specialised skills in producing high-impact reporting and insights that inform strategic decision-making at executive and board level.
