About the Opportunity

We are seeking multiple experienced Supervisors within the NBN/Telecommunications space, based in Sydney. As a Supervisor with Connect People, you will be responsible for overseeing construction activities and ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and to budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and understand 'Dial before you Dig' plans to ensure accurate site preparation and excavation.
  • Monitor subcontractors/workers to ensure they are undertaking their work in accordance with Excavation Permits, Start Cards, and Risk Assessments.
  • Communicate project progress with relevant personnel (Engineer/Project Coordinator/Area Supervisor/Superintendent) on a daily basis or as specified.
  • Solve construction-related issues by working with subcontractors, superintendents, and engineers to identify and agree on solutions.
  • Plan and sequence construction activities using safety-conscious methodologies to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
  • Communicate the construction plan and daily activities with subcontractors to drive delivery and meet project objectives.
  • Manage and deliver projects within budget and time frames allocated.
  • Elevate resource requirements and shortages to Area Supervisors/Superintendents for prompt resolution.
  • Liaise with Site Engineers to ensure materials and equipment are available ahead of construction activities, prioritizing site readiness.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to monitor compliance with site-specific regulations and escalate any unsafe work practices.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in the NBN/TELCO sector, preferably with NBN Enable tickets.
  • A current Driver's License for seamless transportation between sites.
  • Relevant trade or engineering qualifications, such as those in civil construction, or equivalent expertise.
  • Proven leadership skills and techniques for effective people management.
  • No less than 3 years of experience in a supervisory role or an equivalent position.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive capital projects across multiple sites.
  • Capacity to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Strong administrative skills to manage budgets and coordinate project logistics.
  • Able to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • This role requires valid police checks and medical clearance for successful candidates.
