Health and Safety Specialist

As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating a secure work environment for staff, students, and visitors.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will lead our health, safety, and wellbeing program, implementing and maintaining systems, processes, and data to prevent accidents and injuries.
You will provide expert advice and strategic interventions to eliminate or manage health and safety risks, conduct risk assessments, develop and deliver training programs, and support the review and investigation of accidents and incidents.
In this role, you will also conduct inspections and audits relevant to our Health, Safety and Wellbeing program, collaborate on key Employee Wellbeing initiatives, and develop strategies to promote a positive and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and effective strategic interventions to eliminate or manage health and safety risks
- Develop and implement preventative hazard and risk management strategies
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop targeted training programs
- Support the review and investigation of accidents and incidents
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote a positive and healthy work environment
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in health and safety, preferably with a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. A minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role is required, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
