Economic Development Professional

Job Description

This exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Economic Development professional to join our progressive and innovative team. As the region continues to grow and prosper, we seek a temporary full-time (1 year duration) professional to drive the development and implementation of the Regional Economic Development Strategy.

The successful candidate will focus on developing strategic partnerships with government and industry to capitalise on the opportunities of the renewable energy sector in the region and surrounds. They will manage multiple relationships with renewable energy proponents to ensure the best outcomes for the local community and economy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing recommendations and support for the development of new industries in the region;
  • Supporting those to expand;
  • Developing strategies, policies and business plans;
  • Managing own varied workload balancing competing tasks;

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Economics or other relevant field;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering projects that promote economic development and/or business investment;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role;
  • Well-developed computer skills, including MS Office;
  • Class C drivers licence;
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training.
