As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Personal Injury Team at our organization, contributing to the sustainability and growth of our business. The role involves working strategically with stakeholders to reduce the impact of mental injury and claim costs.

This 12-month maximum term contract position is based from our Perth and Brisbane office, with flexibility to work from home once fully trained.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide support to workers with mental injuries for the first 12 weeks and at periodic points during the life of the claim.
  • Engage early with all stakeholders to identify barriers to recovery and return to work following lodgement of a mental injury claim.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and support individualised strategies based on best practice solutions to expedite recovery and return to work.
  • Support the Claims Operations Team in gathering information efficiently and effectively to accept reasonable and necessary treatment in line with the clinical framework.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation through oversight of mental injury recovery and RTW outcome trends, maintaining awareness of industry developments and responding effectively to changes.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar or clinical role, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapist with Mental Health background).
  • Excellent understanding of mental health injuries with experience working in compensation and/or personal injury industries.
  • Strong complex case management capabilities with focus on return to work, mental health, and medically complex cases.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Qualifications in Mediation AND/OR Mental Health First Aid are considered advantageous.
