Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated veterinary nurse to join our team in Melbourne's inner east. As a full-time veterinary nurse, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about patient care and professional development.
About the Role- You will assist our veterinarians with routine exams and procedures, providing surgical and hospital nursing care, including anaesthetic monitoring.
- You will deliver pre- and post-operative patient care, offer support to clients, administer medications, and prepare treatments as required.
- You will manage the admission and discharge process for surgical and hospital patients, communicate treatment plans and updates to clients, perform blood collection, testing, and IV catheter placement, and assist with diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasounds).
- You will also contribute to day-to-day nursing tasks to support our vets and team in delivering exceptional patient care.
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in small animal practice is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills, confidence in all areas of general practice, excellent communication, organisational, and multitasking abilities are necessary.
- A friendly and positive attitude, a genuine love for animals, and their people are required.
