This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Dairy Farmer and Agricultural Technician to join our team in regional Victoria.
About the Role:
- Supervise animal husbandry and feed management to ensure the health and well-being of dairy cattle.
- Manage plant equipment and infrastructure maintenance to optimize efficiency.
- Achieve performance targets, driving business growth and success.
- Maintain compliance with workplace and OH&S Legislation, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
About You:
- We are seeking patient, hardworking, resourceful, trustworthy, loyal, and efficient individuals who are passionate about the dairy industry.
- Prior experience in a similar role is essential, along with a sound knowledge of farming techniques and management.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicating and collaborating to achieve shared goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement feeding programs for springing cows, monitoring growth rates against targets.
- Inspect and monitor nutrient management plans, arranging supply of vaccines and mineral supplements as needed.
- Organize mating programs for rising 2-year-olds, record treatments to meet quality assurance requirements.
- Select cows for artificial insemination, assist with semen selection, and keep insemination records.
