Dairy Farm Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dairy Farm Manager to oversee our modern dairy operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, milk production, and herd management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement daily operations focused on milk production and herd welfare, utilizing industry best practices and equipment.
- Design, implement, and manage breeding, calving, and fertility programs; assist with heifer rearing initiatives.
- Monitor animal health and wellbeing, managing biosecurity risks and treatment schedules to maintain a healthy and productive herd.
- Prioritize and manage feeding and nutrition programs, overseeing water supply, pasture management, and fodder cropping.
- Coordinate milking routines, including operating milking plant/equipment, collecting and grading milk.
- Direct general farm maintenance tasks: fencing, sheds, laneways, water, and irrigation infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate production and herd records, leveraging data for informed decision-making and optimizing production.
- Arrange transportation and sales/collection of milk and livestock as required.
- Lead, train, supervise, and roster staff and contractors to meet production targets and WHS/animal-welfare standards.
- Must possess physical fitness to handle sustained farm work and variable weather conditions.
- Hold a valid and current driver's license and reliable transportation to/from work.
- Prior experience in dairy/livestock is essential.
- Demonstrate a strong animal-welfare focus, record-keeping discipline, and ability to work rostered hours (including early starts, weekends, and public holidays as required).
