About the Role:

Australian Barnardos Recruitment Services is delighted to partner with People With Disabilities WA (PWdWA) to find their next Chief Executive Officer. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring lived experience of a disability and expertise in not-for-profit governance.

About PWdWA:

PWdWA is the lead member-based disability advocacy organisation in Western Australia run by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities. They stand for inclusion, accessibility, and human rights, ensuring everyone in Western Australia with a disability has their voice heard and their rights upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Board to develop and implement the organisation's strategic vision and goals.
  • Drive financial sustainability through effective budgeting and fundraising.
  • Lead advocacy initiatives that address both individual and systemic challenges.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with government bodies, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Serve as a public representative for the organisation, promoting PWdWA's mission and vision.

What We're Looking For:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Community Services, or Business Administration (or equivalent work experience).
  • Executive leadership experience, ideally within the non-profit or disability sector.
  • Strong skills in strategic planning and organisational development.
  • Experience in grant writing and securing donor funding.
  • A deep understanding and commitment to disability advocacy and equity.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationships.
