We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support our dynamic team in North Sydney, working closely with the Finance Manager and Finance General Manager in the Corporate Finance function. The role involves ensuring accuracy and integrity of financials, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing quality accounting services to Business Units and projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and prepare month-end journals for proportional consolidation of joint ventures and alliances.
- Update monthly project forecast to ensure alignment with the business plan and process.
- Assist with various accounting assessments and treatments in preparation of year-end audit and disclosures.
- Prepare and reconcile various balance sheet accounts.
- Perform corporate overhead analysis - investigate actual versus budgeted expenditure and liaise with Functional Heads.
- Assist with preparation of annual budgets for Corporate overheads.
- Liaise with and build working relationships with Business Units, Joint Ventures & Alliances, Site Staff, other Corporate Overhead functions, Accounts Payable and Payroll teams.
- Identify process gaps and assist with process improvement/innovation/automation.
- TM1 experience preferable.
- Technical Accounting Knowledge preferable.
- CA/CPA or working towards.
- 1-2 years accounting experience in a commercial environment.
- Construction industry experience preferable.
- Audit of construction entities experience is beneficial.
