Mining engineering managers are responsible for developing, supervising, monitoring and reviewing mining engineering standards and procedures at a coal operation. This leadership role requires strategic planning skills to optimize performance and ensure long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective mining engineering standards and procedures.
- Drive strategic initiatives and lead high-performing teams to optimize performance.
- Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Manage effective standards for statutory inspections, communication and reporting.
- Cultivate positive relationships within site teams and engage with regulatory bodies as required.
- Necessary qualifications include the NSW Mining Engineering Manager Certificate or equivalent, and 10+ years of mining experience with at least 3 years in underground longwall mining.
- Desirable qualifications include operational management and supervisory roles, tertiary qualifications in mining engineering, and valid NSW explosive security clearance.
