About the Opportunity

This is a key role in leading our physiotherapy team, supporting workload management, quality improvement, professional development and student supervision. As a member of this team, you will contribute to providing person-centred care, performing non-clinical duties and managing a caseload for clients in community and clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide physiotherapy interventions under the delegation of physiotherapists in group or individual sessions located in clinics or community settings.
  • Deliver timely feedback and report any changes in client status to the treating Physiotherapist and/or relevant care provider.
  • Collaborate with clients, families/carers and other providers to ensure therapy and supports reflect a consumer and person-centred care focus.
  • Lead the Physiotherapy team in delivering clinical services, including promoting an active learning environment and advocacy.
  • Support the development and embedding of practices and processes that drive productive and efficient teamwork.
  • Contribute to planning, coordination and delivery of practical placements and supervision of students.
  • Provide support and training for volunteers.

What You Will Bring

  • A Certificate IV Allied Health assistant or relevant work experience, training and education.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in an Allied Health Assistant role within a health environment.
  • Clinical skills and experience in the delivery of group and individual physiotherapy AHA services for community and clinic based clients.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary service and team environment.

Attributes Required

  • High level clinical skills and experience in delivering physiotherapy AHA services with neurological, disability, geriatric or musculo-skeletal diagnosis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous quality improvement and health promotion principles.
