About the Role

We are seeking an experienced female Aboriginal maternal support worker to join our Alukura Women's Health team at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation.

This exciting position will work in partnership with midwives to improve maternal and infant outcomes by providing social, emotional, and cultural support to women in pregnancy and until six weeks following birth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with midwives to assist with social aspects of client case management and service engagement across the continuum of maternity care.
  • Foster relationships to maintain ongoing client contact and confirm follow-up arrangements.
  • Assist with transport, support, and linkage to social services and cultural advocacy.
Requirements
  • Experience in maternal support work, preferably in an Aboriginal health setting.
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
