Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the Qantas Group team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of our climate and sustainability strategies. This includes:

  • Generating and sourcing investment opportunities that align with our Climate Fund's investment mandate.
  • Leading evaluations of potential investments, both domestically and internationally, to ensure alignment with our Group requirements.
  • Conducting thorough due diligence and reviews in collaboration with internal and external advisors to inform key investment and commercial decisions.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 7+ years of experience in sustainability expertise, including product research and development, policy development, or technology commercialization.
  • 7+ years of investment experience in corporate venture capital, venture capital, corporate finance, private equity, funds management, renewable energy, or infrastructure advisory.
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field, with postgraduate studies (MBA, CA, CFA) being a plus.
  • Demonstrated maturity and ability to consult effectively with internal and external parties to influence business thinking and add value.
  • A strong understanding of the aviation industry, technology developments, and regulatory environment.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects, priorities, and outsourced relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, modelling, evaluation, and valuation with a solid understanding of investment risk.
  • A high level of personal accountability, integrity, and motivation, with excellent interpersonal skills for relationship management and team leadership.
