Our team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Sustainability Investment Strategist, Aviation Fuels Division to join our ranks. This role plays a pivotal part in enabling the delivery of the Climate Fund investment mandate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and driving analysis that supports key investment and commercial decisions made by the Investment Committee. Key tasks include generating and sourcing investment opportunities, leading evaluations of potential investments domestically and internationally, and conducting thorough due diligence and reviews in collaboration with internal and external advisors. Additionally, you will ensure alignment with Qantas Group requirements and drive the ongoing development and refinement of the Climate Fund's investment and operational strategy in accordance with our Climate Action Plan and Nature Strategy.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in sustainability expertise, including product research and development, policy development, or technology commercialisation.
  • At least 7 years of investment experience in corporate venture capital, venture capital, corporate finance, private equity, funds management, renewable energy, or infrastructure advisory.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field; postgraduate studies (MBA, CA, CFA) are highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated maturity and ability to consult effectively with internal and external parties to influence business thinking and add value.
  • A strong understanding of the aviation industry, technology developments, and regulatory environment.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects, priorities, and outsourced relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, modelling, evaluation, and valuation with a solid understanding of investment risk.
