We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Medicine Specialist to join our team in Broome, Western Australia. As a Consultant in Public Health Medicine, you will play a key role in supporting the Public Health Manager and leading the disease control team. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding strategies to protect and improve the health of the Kimberley population.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide public health and clinical medical expertise in the identification and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as other emerging public health issues.">
  • Coordinate outbreak investigations and interventions in collaboration with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations.">
  • Develop programs that reflect local priorities in conjunction with stakeholders.">

**Requirements**

">

To be successful in this role, you must have:

">

Unconditional general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

">

Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM) or recognised equivalent.

">

Ability to travel including overnight stays away from home.

">

Culturally respectful attitude towards improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley.
