About the Role
The Senior Forensic Accountant works as a member of the Forensics team engaged on a range of business and equity valuation and forensic investigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares for and conducts interviews with business controllers and external accountants in simple matters
- Manages engagement administration
- Prepares and manages information requests
- Prepares work papers for simple to complex matters
- Conducts financial analysis for simple to complex matters
- Conducts financial modelling for simple to complex matters
- Prepares forensic reports in simple to complex matters
- Conducts research including for complex matters using a range of public and subscription databases
- Conducts presentations to the team on cases/forensics issues
- Arranges four BD events with referrers e.g., Lawyers each financial year.
- Coaches, mentors and reviews the work of team members as required
Skills and Experience
- Relevant Australian experience in public practice
- An excellent communicator (both written and verbal), able to distil and explain complex information and relate to key concepts
- Advanced proficiency with relevant software (including Microsoft Office, Excel) and financial models
- Strong forensic report writing skills with excellent attention to detail
- High analytical focus and drive for professional scepticism
- Sound business and commercial acumen
- Ability to build and maintain strong, respectful business relationships both internally and externally
- Collaborative, with the ability to effectively motivate and mentor team members and positively impact team culture
- Professional integrity with the ability to take responsibility for own growth and development, meet deadlines and honour commitments
- Ability to deal with sensitive matters confidentially and tactfully
- Resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in accounting, business or commerce
- CA/CPA qualified
- Working towards CA Business Valuation Specialist or CA Forensic Accounting Specialist (or relevant alternative)
