Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our grounds maintenance team as an Apprentice Turf Tradesperson. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and knowledge in sports turf management.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of our experienced team to learn about all aspects of golf course and turf maintenance. You will be responsible for maintaining our resort grounds and ensuring our greens and fairways provide excellent playing conditions throughout the year.

  • Maintain irrigation systems
  • Drive preventative maintenance programs
  • Manage external contractors when required

You will report directly to the Course Superintendent and receive support from the Assistant Course Superintendent. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A keen interest in golf and turf management
  • Reliability and commitment to complete all requirements of a Certificate III qualification
  • Previous completion of a Certificate II in Horticulture highly regarded
  • Willingness to follow directions, learn and ask questions
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrating initiative
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Positive and friendly attitude
  • Physical fitness to undertake manual work and heavy lifting
  • Excellent presentation, grooming and hygiene
  • Availability to work a rotating roster including weekends
