This is an entry-level position that offers a unique opportunity for someone to develop their skills in sports turf management. The role involves working under the guidance of an experienced golf course maintenance team to learn about all aspects of turf grass surfaces.
Responsibilities will include maintaining resort grounds, ensuring superbly manicured greens and fairways provide excellent year-round playing conditions. This will involve irrigation system maintenance, driving preventative maintenance programs, and managing external contractors when required.
Reporting directly to the Course Superintendent, the successful candidate will be supported by the Assistant Course Superintendent. They will use their strong communication skills to promote team morale and work with fellow Grounds colleagues.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Completion of a Certificate II in Horticulture, or willingness to complete one;
- Reliability and commitment to complete all requirements of a Certificate III qualification;
- Strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate initiative;
- Physical fitness to undertake manual work and heavy lifting;
- Excellent presentation, grooming, and hygiene;
- A genuine passion and interest in golf and turf management;
- Fixed Term full-time 38 hours;
- Support to complete a nationally recognised qualification Cert III in Sports Turf Management;
- Training fees paid for by RACV;
