Gateway Synergy Recruitment is seeking an experienced Trade Manager to join our client's team in Darwin. Our client is a custom kitchen design and joinery company that specializes in delivering high-quality services to their customers.
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Trade Manager to oversee the metalwork department and ensure the smooth operation of the workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of metalworkers, coordinating production, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop Management: Manage the daily operations of the fabrication workshop through effective and efficient planning and scheduling.
- Leadership: Lead a small team of skilled tradespeople and provide guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Liaison: Liaise between management, on-site staff, and workshop staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Tool and Part Management: Effectively manage all workshop tools and parts to ensure they are in good working condition and readily available for use.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure the site is compliant with safety standards and all safety systems are adhered to.
- Project Management: Provide the site with adequate information in a timely manner to meet critical path deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Implement current quality procedures and QA policy and procedures to ensure high-quality products are delivered to customers.
- Quoting and Estimating: Prepare and submit quotes and estimates for projects as required.
Requirements
- Workshop/Trade Management Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a workshop or trade management role.
- Related Education/Experience: A relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience.
- Steelwork/Metal Sheet Working/Welding Experience: Experience in steelwork, metal sheet working, or welding is essential.
- Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute projects.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in the use of computer software and systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently while contributing as a key team member.
