Job Opportunity: Tax Team Leader

The Australian Federal Police is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Tax Team Leader. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture.

The team leader will be responsible for leading a dynamic technical team responsible for delivering taxation services. They will work cooperatively, under limited direction, to prepare written advice and briefings on strategic and operational tax matters, contribute to the management and completion of tax compliance matters, develop processes and procedures for the team, provide advice and guidance in the development and enhancement of systems impacting the recording and reporting of taxation information, and represent the team in various forums.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of written advice and briefings on strategic and operational tax matters;
  • Contributing to the management and completion of tax compliance matters;
  • Development of processes and procedures for the team;
  • Provision of advice and guidance in the development and enhancement of systems impacting the recording and reporting of taxation information;
  • Representation of the team in various forums;

Requirements:

  • Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or ability to obtain one;
  • Contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role;
  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in the field;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team;
