Prison Chaplain Job Opportunity

A dynamic and compassionate individual is sought to fill the role of Prison Chaplain at a correctional centre in New South Wales.

The successful applicant will provide spiritual care and support to prisoners, staff, and their families through one-on-one conversations, Bible study, and chapel services. This position requires collaboration with Correctional Services Chaplains from other denominations and faiths.

Key qualifications for this role include ordained Minister status within the Anglican Church of Australia, licensure within the Diocese of Bathurst or eligibility for licensure by the Bishop. A minimum of five years experience in pastoral ministry, preferably in a parish or chaplaincy setting, is also required.

Additional skills and qualifications necessary for success in this position include excellent communication skills, including listening and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. A current and valid driver's licence and willingness to travel are also necessary.
