Job Overview
The role involves reviewing, updating and maintaining technical, engineering, maintenance, safety and risk policy for land material to ensure completeness and conformance with legislation, regulations, standards, codes of practice and Defence requirements.
- Review and update technical policies to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders at the working level and engage them on complex issues.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of strategic business planning, project, change management and innovation objectives.
- Set individual work priorities while working as part of an integrated team.
About the Role
The position supports the Director and the Technical Regulatory Authority - Land (TRA-L), with the development and maintenance of regulations, policy and guidance for land materiel maintenance and safety.
The team manages the Defence Land Materiel Safety Manual (LMSM) which provides regulations, policy and guidance for managing work health and safety risks during the design, manufacture, supply, operation and maintenance of land materiel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive policy framework to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to effectively manage communication and expectations.
- Provide expertise in technical, engineering, maintenance, safety and risk policy to support business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
